Each year at the AGM, the HHMBA takes time to remember Coach Stevie Marshall. Through her youth, Stevie was a fixture on the ball diamond, playing the game that she loved, giving it her all and being with her teammates living life to the fullest. As time goes on, Stevie got married, became a mom and she gave back to her community, volunteering her time to coach in our Rookieball Program. Unfortunately, Stevie succumbed to breast cancer and passed away on September 2, 2002.
The Stevie Marshall award is presented to players from our Rookieball team who stand for everything that Stevie did. Coach Aaron Furger and Director of Junior Travel Ball, Bob DeZeeuw, presented the 2018 trophies to Zeph Chung and Wyatt Bannerman.
Congratulations to both players!
The Halton Hills Minor Baseball Association held it’s Annual General Meeting at the Hillsview Active Living Centre on November 1, 2018.
President Larry Fitzgerald went through the Agenda highlighting all of the accomplishments of the Association over the 2018 season and Treasurer Gina Frew reviewed the Association’s projected financial position.
Unfortunately with the end of the season, the HHMBA is sad to announce that we are losing two key members of our Association. After 14 years of being involved in ALL aspects of operations of the Georgetown Baseball and Halton Hills Minor Baseball, Wayne and Darlene Peddie have decided to take some time for themselves. Their presence within our Association will be greatly missed. Wayne and Darlene were presented gifts to thank them for their ongoing support of Minor Baseball in our community.
The current Board of Directors was dissolved and an election was held to fill positions on the Board. The Board of Directors for the 2019 Season will be:

We have been able to secure our Level One and Level Two umpiring clinics for the 2019 Season.
Level One will be Saturday April 6 at Cedarvale Community Centre.
Level Two will be Saturday April 13 at Cedarvale Community Centre.
To register, visit https://www.baseballontario.com/ and click on the umpire at the bottom left of the page.
New umpires will need to register as an umpire to be able to register for the clinic. Returning umpires will need to log in and register for the clinic.
For more information, please reach out to our Director of Umpires at email@example.com.
The Nikki Ross Memorial Umpire School (NRMUS) might be the program for you. Offered on a weekly basis in Mississauga (at Chris Hadfield PS, 465 Fairview Rd W, Mississauga, ON L5B 3W7), this in-depth program offers umpires an opportunity to learn the skills from some of Central Ontario’s best umpires.
This 8 week program begins January 17 through March 7, 6:45-10 pm. The cost is $100 for level one (plus $25 carding cost) and level two for $100 (plus $45 carding cost).
For more information, please reach out to Adam Bakos, Director of Umpires, firstname.lastname@example.org or 416-804-0897 (after 5pm). Please see attached flyer.
The HHMBA will also be offering the one day weekend clinic in April.
Either the NRMUS or the one day clinic will allow you to register for umpiring with our Association during the 2019 season. The NRMUS obviously offers the participants a more in-depth program, where they are going to be able to experience much more than a one day clinic.
The document NRMUS_8_week_Clinic-Umpire_Clinic_2019.pdf was attached to this post.
